Showhome Case Study: Wichelstowe, Swindon, Wiltshire

Wichelstowe is a large consortium development where our client is one of half a dozen developers.
Competition for sales can be tough, as such special designs were required which would help make the show homes memorable for prospective buyers. We started by researching the competitors schemes to ensure our designs were distinctive and different. Working closely with our client the schemes were then developed and specification choices carefully co-ordinated.
The 4 bedroom show home was designed to appeal to a young family, offering a modern take on country living. Accent colours of duck egg and red were used throughout the scheme.
The 2 bedroom show home was designed to appeal to a young professional couple with a luxurious contemporary feel. Accent colours of black and gold were teamed with sparkling metallics and gloss finished furniture.
The showhomes opened in April 2010 and within 2 weeks of launching our client had reserved 7 properties, not only exceeding their expectations but also out performing those also developing at Wichelstowe.
The schemes were delivered to a budget of circa £14 per square foot plus vat excluding flooring.

The clever use of a mirrored wall in the living room has helped maximise the feeling of space, particularly as this townhouse is typical of many with much more spacious acomodation on the upper floors.

The Owl and the Pussy Cat" was our inspiration for this beautiful nursery. The mural and nursery rhyme were hand painted by our artist. We wanted to create a memorable reminder of the showhome against its competitors, this room certainly does that.

The stunning master bedroom suite on the top floor featured wallpaper from the Romo Mirabel collection. It was designed to be a grown up sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of young family life

A complete contrast to the other showhome, this living room showcases a sophisticated look for a young professional couple.

High gloss white units were the backdrop for the kitchen/diner with its contemporary styled black glass dining table and a feature chandalier hannging above it.

A feature wallpaper from Osborne and Little was our inspiration for the guest bedroom. High gloss back furniture added to the mood whilst a diamante buttoned black velvet headboard completed the overall effect.
